Yesterday via Jason Flores

Today in the little villages it was warm and sunny and as we approached ADRA it was raining. The weather is cool lite showers off and on. I think that most are having to get use to simplicity and accommodations and I'm sure are appreciative. Some of the rooms have double beds, two twins, two sets of bunks, or a full with twin. Each room has a shower toilet and sink. There is running water, though it does not get hot.

I am told by that the people here are "dying" for the word. I was looking around the church and didn't see bibles or much of anything else. The pastor for this territory I understand is in charge of 15 churches. He is only out of college half a year and struggling to keep up. There harvest is ripe, but the laborers are few.

Regarding tonight's meeting that Julianna spoke for, there was a small crowd in attendance not counting the workers and more came in later. The pastor asked the people if they agreed with what the bible says and they ALL raised their hands. At the end, the pastor told Julianna to stand at the door and welcome "her" people. He taught us how to say "See you tomorrow" in Quechuan (the local language).

The VBS was lead out by Penny Lutz, Brook, Juliana R., Bronti, Brandon R., Abraham, Jeff Schlund, Tristen Melton. I was able to take some video of the children singing. It was cute. Penny reported that about 20 children were in attendance. They covered the topic of creation. With the glow sticks being a big hit. Thank you to whomever donated them. We have a total of four groups. We were in Ququjana (a community south of Urcos). There are two groups per bus. We only have about a 45 minute trip.

I am told that the others have a little over an hour drive. That other group is in Cuspata (a small town even further south) and has Mrs. Lauritzen, Mrs Bullington, Austin, his mom, dad, & sister. Jasmanny, Jeremy, and Keisha. Mrs Lauritzen said they served a small group of children in VBS and lead one child to open with prayer and one to close with prayer. She also said that they prayed with the most sincere prayer and hope that it impresses the others.

Austin was the speaker for tonight at their location. He had the help of Davina and Jasmanny for translation of the word. They said that they had a nice sized crowd in attendance.

Can you ask for prayer for Mrs. Lindsay. She has been ill with altitude sickness since we arrived. She states that she is feeling a little better but had some vomiting. Also, her Birthday is on Wednesday, the biggest and longest day of our trip. I am told it is a 6 hr trip by bus and train. She said she is going to be 54.
